— 01 Who we are

Not only engineering. Advisory plus execution.

Worklife is a corporatised consulting group. We sit at the intersection of public sector mandate, capital allocation and engineering reality — translating ambition into structured, financeable, deliverable outcomes.

Our practitioners come from the institutions our clients answer to: development finance, national utilities, ministries, corporate boards, EPCs and tier-one engineering houses. That dual lens — the policy room and the construction site — is the consulting product.

We are not a generalist firm. We are deliberately structured around the sectors that define Africa's infrastructure decade: energy, water, transport, mining, digital systems, space and built environments. Every engagement carries partner-level accountability.

Our Evolution

From engineering practice to consulting platform.

Worklife began as a specialist engineering consultancy. Over a decade the practice corporatised, deepened sectoral capability and added advisory, transaction and digital systems disciplines — emerging as an integrated multi-disciplinary group.

2014 — Founded

Engineering practice established

Founded as a specialist civil and structural engineering consultancy serving public sector clients in Gauteng.

2018 — Sector depth

Energy & water added

Expansion into utilities-grade energy and bulk water programmes; first cross-border mandates in the SADC region.

2021 — Advisory

Transaction practice formed

Project finance, transaction advisory and PPP structuring capability added — bringing capital expertise alongside engineering depth.

2024 — Integrated group

Multi-disciplinary platform

Group-wide rebrand to Worklife Consulting. Eight integrated divisions including space, mining, digital and experiential environments.

Mission & Positioning
We engineer the systems that complex markets depend on — and we structure the capital and governance to make them durable.
01

Mandate-led, not service-led

We organise around the client's outcome, not around our org chart. Engagements are scoped to what success looks like in twenty-four months.

02

Cross-disciplinary by default

Energy projects need water specialists. Mining needs digital. Public sector needs capital. We assemble the team the problem requires.

03

Built for frontier markets

Tailored for environments where regulation, currency and capacity constraints shape what is technically and commercially viable.

04

Independent of execution preference

Free to recommend the right structure, technology and contractor — no vendor relationships, no preferred-bidder bias.

How We Work

A delivery model designed around accountability.

Three commitments that shape every engagement — from initial mandate through to project closeout.

01 / 03

Partner-led from day one

Every engagement carries direct executive accountability. The senior partners who scoped the work are the partners who deliver it. No bait-and-switch staffing.

02 / 03

Cross-disciplinary teaming

We assemble the team the problem requires — drawing engineers, financial structurers, digital systems leads and sector specialists from across the group.

03 / 03

Outcome-anchored delivery

Engagements are framed against the client's twenty-four-month outcome — not the consulting deliverable schedule. We close out when the project closes out.

Governance & Values

Independence, candour, durability.

The values are unremarkable. The discipline of holding to them in commercial environments where shortcuts are abundant — that is the work.

01

Independence

No vendor relationships, no preferred-bidder agreements. Our recommendations are unencumbered by anything other than the client's outcome.

02

Candour

Difficult conclusions are delivered directly. We do not soften technical or commercial findings to preserve the engagement.

03

Durability

We build solutions that survive the political, financial and operational cycles they will encounter — not solutions that win the next phase.

04

Discretion

Most of our mandates do not appear in our case studies. Confidentiality is the default and the floor of professional conduct.

05

Local fluency

African and Middle Eastern markets reward operators who understand institutional and regulatory texture. We are domiciled here for a reason.

06

Rigour without ceremony

We do the unglamorous analytical work other firms skip — and present it without the consulting theatre.

Regional Footprint

Three offices. One delivery network.

Domiciled in South Africa with a regional delivery network extending into the SADC, Middle East and selected international corridors.
